One screen for 260,000 people’s data.
Answering one question about one person could mean logging into twenty different systems. I led the design of a single, secure pane of glass — one screen, one search, gated by role — for 260,000 people, plus an AI assistant that answers in plain language. An estimated 50,000 hours of annual busywork, gone.
The problem
A simple question — what’s true about this one person? — was scattered across roughly twenty separate systems. Answering it meant hopping logins, reconciling mismatches, and hoping you had access to the right one. Slow, error-prone, and invisible to the people it burdened.
One pane of glass
I led the design of a single interface that pulls it together — one screen, one search — with role-based access control so people see exactly what they’re cleared to, and nothing they’re not. Grounded in usability testing and interaction design, the consolidation had to feel effortless without ever loosening who could see what.
Asking in plain language
On top sits an RBAC-gated AI assistant: ask a question in natural language and get an answer scoped to your permissions — no query-building, no system-hopping. The access model does the worrying so the user doesn’t have to.
The outcome
Launched in Q3 2025 to 260,000 users, the platform collapsed roughly twenty systems into one and removed an estimated 50,000 hours a year of manual lookup — time returned to actual work.
My role
I led the design end to end — usability research, interaction design, and the access model that made consolidation safe at enterprise scale — partnering with engineering to keep a genuinely simple front door over genuinely complex, high-compliance data.
